Muhammad Syafrudin has been an Indonesian researcher, lecturer, and scientist at Sejong University, Seoul, South Korea since March 2022. Prior to this, he worked at Dongguk University from March 2019 to February 2022.
In August 2019, he was the only Indonesian diaspora researcher from South Korea invited by the Ministry of Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia to attend the World-Class Scholars Symposium III (SCKD 2019) in Jakarta, aimed at developing human resources and accelerating Indonesia's development. In November 2023, Dr. Syafrudin attended the World Scientific Forum of Indonesia (WSFI) 2023 in Bali as a panelist, organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. WSFI focuses on strengthening global collaboration, research partnerships, and academic networking, fostering a sustainable academic ecosystem, industry-academic partnerships, and joint publications to advance Indonesian research and education.
He has been conducting research and development (R&D) in Industrial Artificial Intelligence (IAI), Industrial Analytics (IA), Industrial Informatics (II), Industrial IoT (IIoT), Industrial Big Data (IBD) for over 10+ years. During this period, he has co-authored more than 60+* publications in conferences, books/chapters, and journals. These publications include works in renowned journals such as Expert Systems with Applications, Food Control, Mathematics, Biocybernetics, and Biomedical Engineering, which have collectively garnered over 1770+* citations (Source: Google Scholar). Additionally, he has actively contributed to the academic community by serving as a chair, technical program committee, guest editor and/or reviewer for more than 60+** outlets, keeping abreast of current developments and enhancing scientific discourse. He also teaches courses on programming languages, linear algebra, big data, database systems, machine learning, deep learning, and more.
